Content Management
- 1.The ability to control and make decisions about included material
- 2.The tools to understand when and how a web site is functioning.
- 3.A quick way to know what's going on.
Content management refers to the ability to easily control and oversee the information contained in your web site.
This is accomplished in a RapidWeb site by collecting all pages into a database rather than being dispersed in HTML files. If you've ever tried to reorganize or maintain a web site with more than 5 or 6 pages you know that you can easily be overwhelmed by the profusion of pages and files.
Since the the number of files is dramatically reduced it is much easier to track and control these items, making backup and updates a much simpler matter.
Content management is having the tools to know what is happening on your web site. Here is a description of just a few:
- MostPopular? page, you can quickly learn which pages are most frequently visited. If you find a page that is not being viewed, you can modify the content or location to increase traffic. This information is constantly updated and always current.
- Proximity counter (the bottom of this page). This tool lets you know at a glance which pages are seeing traffic and which ones aren't.
- RecentChanges and the diff function. With the RecentChanges page you can quickly see which pages have been added, changed or deleted by co-workers. The diff function of the RecentChanges page tracks the history of a page and its changes.
- Backup. Easily backup up the entire database and store it on your local drive to restore it to the Website.
Every feature of RapidWeb is easy to use! A new user can be quickly up and running with little or no training.
