Add-On Domains (anotherdomain.com)
Add On Domains are fully functional web site under (controlled by) your main cPanel account. Add on Domains have their own URL, e-mail addresses, cgi-bin, stats, etc. A Reseller or business would use Add-On Domains because all domains, mail, etc. can be managed using the cPanel on the main account. Every Add-On domain also creates a Sub Domain (see below). Add-On Domains can be forwarded to another URL.
Sub Domains (info.yourdomain.com) also called 3rd Level Domains.
Sub domains are a way of creating separate accounts within your master cPanel account. These sub domains are accessed with separate URLs like timber.hardwood.com or literature.yourdomain.com, and allow a business to establish branding, or focus on a separate product line or service. A Sub Domain is a separate folder, with it’s own CGI Bin subfolder, inside the Public_html folder of the primary domain. Sub Domains also have their own stats and are e-mail capable. Sub Domains can also be forwarded to another URL. Some hosting packages include a limited number of free Sub Domains.
Parked Domains are additional domain name(s) that you own that point to your primary domain name. For example, you own the business.com and the innovations.com domain names, but you do not want to create a separate website for innovations.com. You could park innovations.com under business.com. All traffic for innovations.com will automatically go to the business.com URL. Parked Domains can ONLY be forwarded to the primary domain. Parked Domains do not have stats, but they are e-mail capable. You could accept mail@innovations.com. Some hosting packages include a limited number of free Parked Domains.
