How does RapidWeb Work?
RapidWeb is a site creation tool. Unlike leading web tools like FrontPage, it resides on our Internet server and not on your local hard drive. It focuses on creation and management of your site rather than creation of a single page of HTML.
The technology employed in RapidWeb, is referred to as a ContentManagement. A ContentManagement tool is one that allows web sites to be easily built and easily managed. Our philosophy is that if the process of web site creation and management isn't totally transparent to the user it will create a roadblock to completion and sustainability. Our EasyEdit edit environment allows for simple formatting of web pages and the almost miraculous addition of newly linked pages using our RapidWord syntax.
The pages that are created in the EasyEdit environment are stored in a database program that runs on our servers. As a visitor views these pages our RapidWeb engine merges the information in the database with a custom designed template. These templates are professionally designed and provide the structure, consistency and navigation to your site. As each record from the database is merged with your navigational template, RapidWeb generates the appropriate HTML on the fly that is delivered to your visitors browser.
If you would like a little more technical detail about the underpinnings of this technology, you may read about it on our MoreAboutMechanics page. The programming tools we use to create RapidWeb are all standards based, open source, leading edge products that allow us to offer an incredibly sophisticated product at an incredible price.
